Oriental Cockroaches are a common species of cockroaches found in Austin, Texas and surrounding areas that A-Tex Pest Management can easily dispatch with our effective cockroach control services. Oriental cockroaches are frequently known as water bugs. They are black, shiny, and stout. They measure up to 1 1/2” in length. Female Oriental cockroaches are wingless, and though the males are equipped with short, stubby wings, they do not fly. Oriental cockroaches thrive in warm temperatures, and if the outside temperatures drop beyond their liking, they will seek artificial warmth that emits from homes and businesses. Oriental cockroaches will often burrow under mulch, bricks or other vegetation. Since they are commonly referred to as water bugs, you can guess they prefer high levels of moisture and are typically discovered in basements, kitchens, and bathrooms.
“We will not hesitate to call them if the problem arises again, and we will certainly be contacting them for all of our future pest control needs.”
